Elena Aurian (. late 1500s) was the witch responsible for creating the Fairy-Lights Spell. She was also among some of the first settlers to arrive in the Americas in the mid 1600s. Beyond her creation of this spell — which has now become a trademark decoration spell and has earned her a footnote in Wizarding history in the Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry's textbook Chadwick's Charms, Volume I — she has made no major known contributions to Wizarding history.
- Elena's surname, "Aurian", comes from "אוֹר" (aur), the Hebrew word for "light".
